Bailiffs discovered a massive haul of $8.5million in cash at a flat in Wards Wharf Approach, Docklands, east London.

Police were called to the apartments at around 10.25am yesterday where they discovered the mound of dollar bills.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of money laundering. He has since been released on bail to a date in mid-August pending further enquires.

Police are testing the money to see if it authentic.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
