Police launched a campaign this week to encourage the public to report suspicious incidents that could be related to terrorism.
The five-week initiative, run throughout London, is called ‘It’s probably nothing but...’ and it consists of adverts in local and minority ethnic newspapers, a 40-second London radio slot, and leaflets distributed to 1.4m households.
Officers stress that no information is too small or insignificant as all calls are confidential and taken by specially trained officers who thoroughly analyse and research before deciding what to do next.
Dep Ass Comm Stuart Osborne, said: “You know the area where you live better than anyone else so we ask you to be vigilant, trust your instincts and tell us about anyone or anything you see which is out of place in your normal day to day lives.”
The campaign is urging people to trust their instincts and report unusual activity to the Anti-Terrorist Hotline on 0800 789 321.
