Council officers will now be able to enforce dangerous dog legislation in more parts of the borough.
Following approval from Newham Council, Dog Control Orders now be enforced on all land in Newham, regardless who owns it, providing it is open to the air and/or accessible by the public.
This means authorised officers can now deal with dangerous dogs in areas in wider areas including car parks and housing land.
Councillors agreed to extend the enforcement remit at the Annual Meeting of the Council at the Old Town Hall, Stratford, on Thursday evening.
Police burst through the doors of 13 suspected gang members today in a series of dawn raids to crack down on street violence.
