A cab driver has been acquitted of causing death by careless driving.
Renee Peett, 91, of Petherton Road, Highbury, died two days after the collision with Noel Cameron’s taxi on Waterloo Bridge in 2011 left her with a shattered pelvis and broken spine.
Mr Cameron, 54, of Sixth Avenue, Manor Park, was driving south at about 5.30pm, taking a teenage passenger from his school in north London to Fulham FC’s training ground.
Ms Peett, who had health problems, dementia and used a walking stick, tried to cross the road.
Mr Cameron was cleared by a jury at Inner London Crown Court last week.
Police burst through the doors of 13 suspected gang members today in a series of dawn raids to crack down on street violence.
