A man has been charged with the murder of Zahir Bouchia, who died two-and-a-half weeks after he was found lying in a road in North Woolwich.
Nadeem Yasin, 42, of Claremont Street, North Woolwich, is due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court in Bow today in connection with his death.
Mr Bouchia, 43, was found by police in Woodman Parade on May 21 and pronounced dead on June 6. A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as head and chest injuries.
Newham Council’s rejection of a planning application for the UK’s biggest mosque is set to be the subject of a public inquiry this year.
