Forest Gate policeman accused of attacking boy

A police officer accused of beating up a handcuffed teenager in the aftermath of the London riots will face trial next year.
Pc Joseph Harrington, 28, is said to have grabbed the 15- year-old by the neck and forced his hands and knees into his back.
The attack is alleged to have taken place at Forest Gate Police Station on August 11 last year following three days of rioting across the capital.
The officer appeared at Southwark Crown Court accused of actual bodily harm.
Wearing a black suit, with a red tie and grey jumper, Harrington spoke only to confirm his name.
Hugh Davies, defending Harrington, said he would plead not guilty.
Judge Andrew Goymer indicated that Harrington could formally enter his pleas at the start of his trial, after any further applications have been heard.
Harrington, of Walthamstow, was released on unconditional bail until his trial in March.
