Businessman accused of filming Stratford rape

A businessman accused of raping a woman at knife-point and filming the attack on his mobile phone has been ordered to stand trial in January.
Richard Holmes, 39, allegedly subjected the 30-year-old to a ‘series of sexual indignities’ after following her into her home in Stratford.
Snaresbrook Crown Court heard the alleged attacks took place on the evening on July 10 this year.
Bearded and wearing a blue tracksuit, Holmes who runs his own IT business, spoke only to confirm his identity when he appeared in court via video link from Pentonville Prison.
Holmes, of Rainham, Kent, was granted bailed to return to court for a plea and case management hearing on October 18.
A trial, expected to last four to five days, has been scheduled for January 2 next year.
