The Stratford youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at the Old Bailey by video-link today and was remanded in custody.

He was charged with the murder of Thomas Overton, 18, in Beaumont Road, Leyton, east London, on August 19.

A fight broke out following a party in Colchester Road, which spilled out into nearby streets.

The boy was one of six people arrested after the incident.

A plea and case management hearing will take place on November 5, with a trial date set for January 1, 2013.
