Trains on the Fenchurch Street-to-Laindon service won’t be stopping at West Ham if the proposed strike goes ahead tonight on the London Underground.

Extra daytime trains on the c2c service are being run tomorrow and Wednesday—but they won’t call at West Ham if it is involved in the stoppage.

“We can only stop at West Ham when TfL is able to open the station,” explained a company spokesman. “Trains will stop as long as the station is open. This is not possible once the strike has begun.”

So the company is advising passengers to make alternative arrangements.

More c2c daytime trains are being put on the Fenchurch Street service which are stopping at Limehouse and Barking. Four trains an hour are running from Laindon to Fenchurch Street between 10am and 2.20pm and four an hour outbound from Fenchurch Street to Laindon between 1pm and 3pm, adding 6,500 seats a day. The company already runs every carriage available during peak rush-hours.

The 48-hour RMT union strike begins on the Underground 9pm tonight and ends 9pm Wednesday. Services are expected to be back to normal by Thursday morning.
