A young cast member and fledgling actor stood out as a potential star of the future.

Abubacarr Bah, 11, of Gallions Primary School, Beckton, got plenty of laughs with his delivery of his lines as Ducklife. He says he has known he wanted to be an actor since he was in Year 2.

“I’m good at it, and it’s really fun,” he said. “It’s a way to meet loads of different people, and you can make friends easily because you work with them, and you get fans that really like you.

“In the beginning I couldn’t understand the play, but then it was explained better. I found it interesting. When we rehearsed we talked it through.”

Director James Martin Charlton said: “Abu has been a joy to work with, from his first audition where he blew the writer James Kenworth and myself away, to the rehearsals and the performance where his line delivery, characterisation and energy has been consistently high quality. I think we all know he’s a star in the making.”
