Richard House Children’s Hospice believes it can put that novelty egg timer that you got for Christmas to good use.

The Beckton hospice is encouraging everyone to pop into their local hospice charity shop and give their unwanted gifts to be sold.

By donating items to a Richard House charity shop, you will be supporting the 300 families who use the hospice in Newham, East London. These families from across London, Essex and the Home Counties are supporting children and young people with life-limiting, life-threatening and complex healthcare needs.

Maria Barry, director of income generation at Richard House, said: “You can turn your unsuitable presents into money to support London’s oldest children’s hospice by simply popping into one of our shops.

“What a brilliant way to make a difference this Christmas. Please pop by with your unwanted gifts and tell family and friends how they can support a brilliant cause after the festive season.”
