Newham residents are invited to a community coffee morning to raise money for a cancer charity.
Jean Field, who lives in Shaftesbury Court sheltered housing association in Beckton. wants to get locals together for a chat over hot drinks and biscuits to fundraise for Macmillan Cancer Care.
A charity close to Jean’s heart, she encourages people to donate every year - even persuading nearby Sainsbury’s and ASDA supermarkets to give her items to auction.
There will also be a raffle and a tombola made by local residents.
To join Jean, just turn up at Shaftesbury Court, Beckton, E6 5RB on June 19 at 10.30am where there will be someone on the door.
Newham Council’s rejection of a planning application for the UK’s biggest mosque is set to be the subject of a public inquiry this year.
