The Archbishop of Canterbury will visit Newham on Friday morning to learn about regeneration in the borough.

The Archbishop has a jam-packed schedule which will begin with a walk through Westfield Stratford City and a visit to one of the centre’s InSpiration rooms for prayer.

He will then visit East Village, the site of the London 2012 athlete’s village, to find out about the Olympic legacy and meet the principal of Chobham Academy, which is based in the Olympic park.

The Archbishop will also visit students at London Design and Engineering Technical College in Stratford and pupils from St Luke’s School in Canning Town.

The Archbishop has squeezed in the whistlestop visit to Newham before he heads to Chelmsford to celebrate the Diocese of Chelmsford’s centenary.
