Mother-of-three and legal advisor to a government department has been appointed as a new curate to serve East Ham.

Ade Eleyae was recently ordained at Chelmsford Cathedral by the Diocesan Bishop of Chelmsford, the Rt Rev Stephen Cottrell, following three years at St Mellitus College NTMTC.

In London, aged eight-years-old, a chance encounter with a priest set her onto this lifelong commitment to prayer ministry when he encouraged her to pray.

She and her family worship at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Collier Row, where Ade has been prayer leader for some years.

Born in Surrey, then moving to London, Ade went overseas to Nigeria before settling down with her husband back in the UK.
