The part-tied Enterprise leasehold to the 19th century, Grade II listed pub, has been bought by Rocky Raj Ltd from the New English Pub Company for £250,000.

Stewart Harkness of Christie + Co’s Enfield office said: “King Eddies is widely acclaimed to be the best pub in Stratford, on which the new owners should be able to build thanks to its prominent location close to Westfield Shopping Centre and the Olympic Park.

“The sale, naturally, attracted a great deal of interest, not least because of its established trade and popularity and its location. The new owner is a local entrepreneur with several catering businesses in the vicinity. We anticipate they will make a great success of this newest venture.”

The pub was originally called the King of Prussia before changing its name, for patriotic reasons, in 1914. It features low ceilings, panelled walls, etched glass, open fires and wooden benches that make the downstairs a19th century period piece, while the airier upstairs is a sole-purpose dining room.
