Commuters at Maryland railway station will soon see the benefits of a £500,000 upgrade.
Work will involve redecoration, repairing the guttering and a complete re-roofing of the canopies on the station platforms.
Maryland sits on the busy Greater Anglia London Liverpool Street to Shenfield route.
Colin MacConnachie. the franchise’s metro area manager, said: “We are really pleased that work is under way on a range of improvements at Maryland.
“Improving the customer experience is a priority for us and I’m delighted that Maryland is one of the first stations to benefit from these efforts.”.
Newham Council’s rejection of a planning application for the UK’s biggest mosque is set to be the subject of a public inquiry this year.
