Discount retailer brings employment to Canning Town

Eight new jobs have been created at a discount retailer store that opened in Canning Town.
Cash Generator, which buys gold and unwanted items with cash, took over a vacant site at 67 Barking Road on September 15.
The store will be managed by Ray Hanif, 24, who previously worked at the Cash Generator store in Ilford.

Brick Lane Comedy Festival cancelled after opposition from community groups
A comedy festival in east London due to feature acts including Al Murray, Alan Davies and Ed Byrne has been cancelled because of “heavy opposition from local community groups”.
