Residents of Banks Way in Manor Park staged a Diamond Jubilee Street Party organised by Emelda Ballah-Douglas, Georgina Yearsley and Sue Devlin, with the help of all the residents.

Cllr Andrew Baikie turned up to meet families and bunting and flags joined the houses,

The verdict was that it was a fantastic day and had brought the whole cul-de-sac together.

Said Emelda. chair of the residents association: “The people that live here have their own families and busy lives but this has really brought us together as a community. Gone are the casual ‘hellos’ and welcome back to a real community spirit. “
