Transfer news: Sam Allardyce insists West Ham have not followed up their interest in Martin Olsson as they cannot afford to meet Blackburn’s valuation.
The Hammers boss revealed last week that negotiations over the 24-year-old left back were ongoing despite Blackburn rejecting West Ham’s opening bid of £2million.
But Allardyce, who worked with the Sweden international during his time at Ewood Park, has cooled his interest, saying West ham can’t afford to up their offer.
The Championship side are reportedly demanding in the region of £7m and Allardyce doubts a deal can be struck.
“We’ve not made any further enquiries or any further bids for Martin Olsson,” he said.
“At this moment in time we haven’t got the funds to go back in with a higher bid.”
The Brisbane Road-based club are hopeful permission for a review will be granted after oral hearing.
