Sam Allardyce has told his West Ham players to add to West Brom’s poor run of results at the Hawthorns on Sunday but insists the Baggies have been unlucky in recent weeks.
Steve Clarke’s side have lost their last three games on the bounce against Arsenal, Stoke and Swansea and Allardyce thinks their slide down the table might have put doubts in their players’ minds.
He said: “Three defeats on the trot may put a little bit of doubt in their players and if that’s the case we have to try and exploit that.
But he was quick to point out that their performances have not been as bad as their results suggest.
“I think they are still playing well and competing very well,” he said. “I saw how unfortunate they were to lose at Arsenal last week.
“Only two very poor refereeing decisions cost them the game so they may well have got something against Arsenal.
“At this moment in time, they are still playing very well but results have not matched the performances they have given.”
