Stoke manager Mark Hughes has hit out at Tottenham midfielder Sandro for his social media comments about Potters midfielder Charlie Adam.
The Brazilian wrote on Instagram ‘Charlie Adam – the beast is watching you’ after the Stoke man’s challenge on Paulinho left him with ligament damage.
It’s the fourth time that an Adam challenge has left a Tottenham player injured and Spurs complained to the FA.
Adam insists he has no agenda against Lilywhites players and Hughes leapt to the defence of his charge.
“I was disappointed it went to a disciplinary panel as the referee (Kevin Friend) was two yards away from it.
“Apparently he said he didn’t see it. I was disappointed as the referee should have seen it was a genuine attempt to win the ball.
“We don’t appreciate some of their players Twittering on their own sites about ‘Waiting for Charlie’. I think that has the potential for a disrepute charge in itself, so we’ll see if that’s responded to.”
