Transfer news: Danny Rose expects Luka Modric to leave the club

Tottenham youngster Danny Rose believes that star man Luka Modric is set to leave White Hart Lane.

The Croatia international has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea but looks set to be leaving for Real Madrid.

“[Modric staying at Spurs is] looking a bit unlikely but if we don’t I hope the manager can attract some big names and take the club forward,” Rose said.

The 22-year-old is delighted that one of his rivals for a starting spot, Gareth Bale, has signed a new contract with the club.

“It’s brilliant for the fans and us (players) as well,” he added.

“For the last two or three seasons Gareth has been the main man and it is great he has signed (for) another four years.”
