Carlo Cudicini would be happy to see Andre Villas-Boas, Rafael Benitez or Fabio Capello as the new Spurs manager
Tottenham goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini is open to seeing Chelsea flop Andre Villas-Boas, Liverpool legend Rafael Benitez or former England manager Fabio Capello as the new Spurs boss.
The north Londoners are looking for a new manager after dispensing with Harry Redknapp last week and the Italian stopper is keeping an open mind.
Cudicini believes it would be good for Villas-Boas, who was sacked by Chelsea at the beginning of March after a horrible run of form, if he moved to White Hart Lane.
“I think it would be good for him,” Cudicini told Sky Sports Italia. “I also think it would be a good opportunity for him to grow as a coach.
“Tottenham are a great team and he could learn a lot here.”
The 38-year-old also suggested that Benitez, who remains very popular on Merseyside after his 2005 Champions League win, could do a good job.
“(Rafa) Benitiez did very well in England as coach of Liverpool and he knows English football very well,” said Cudicini.
“However, it’s obvious that many names have been brought up because Tottenham are one of the most important Premier League clubs.”
And Cudicini would be very happy if former England manager Fabio Capello was handed the reins after working under him at AC Milan.
“(Fabio) Capello to Tottenham would make me very happy,” told Radio Kiss Kiss
“I played under him at AC Milan when I was young and he won so much with the senior team. He would bring experience and knowledge into the side.”
