Scott Parker has been delighted with how the England manager has set things up
Tottenham star Scott Parker has hailed England manager Roy Hodgson for forging a togetherness in the Three Lions camp.
England were tipped to crash out at the group stage but, thanks to wins over Ukraine and Sweden, progressed to the quarter finals as Group D winners and will face Italy in the quarter finals on Sunday.
“Over this tournament we’ve shown we’ve got a lot of commitment and togetherness, and it’s perfect for us,” Parker said. “I think that suits our style.
“We’ve set ourselves up. We have a real togetherness in the camp and a real belief. In life it is crucial to have that belief and positivity and I think we’ve shown that is what we’ve got. It can take you far.
“There’s a confidence in the group and I think by moving on there’s still hopefully a little bit more to come but only time will tell. We’ll go and prepare for the next game and see what happens.”
Yaya Sanogo says a meeting with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was enough to persuade him to snub a move to Lille and join the Gunners instead.
