Transfer news: Youssouf Mulumbu is expected to stay at The Hawthorns

West Brom sporting director Dan Ashworth has revealed that neither Newcastle nor Tottenham have made a bid for star man Youssouf Mulumbu.

The midfielder was quoted as saying that he was in talks with the Premier League duo but Ashworth has described them as ‘mischief’

“I think we saw the same comments last year,” he told the Express and Star.

“It seems like there are some agents trying to play a bit of mischief.

“Once again, we have had no contact from anybody regarding Youssouf.

“I think people pry on the fact that the players are away on holiday or back home so cannot defend themselves.

“There are always rumours at this time of the year but nothing serious, as far as I’m aware.”
