Davor Suker believes Luka Modric should play in Spain

Croatia legend Davor Suker has told Tottenham star Luka Modric to leave Spurs and join Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The playmaker has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Manchester United in the past but the La Liga champions are also believed to be interested.

And Suker, who is set to become Croatian football president, believes that Modric’s future lies away from England.

“As a future president of Croatian football, I’d love to see Luka Modric join Real Madrid,” Suker said.

“He has the quality and the ability to play for a big club like Real. But it is a question I will pose with my heart to (Jose) Mourinho and (Florentino) Perez.”
