Glenn Hoddle questioned Daniel Levy’s decision
Former Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle was shocked that Spurs decided to sack Harry Redknapp and believes the decision was not made for footballing reasons.
The 65-year-old’s departure was confirmed on Thursday morning, despite leading the club to a top four finish last season.
And Hoddle, who managed the White Hart Lane outfit between 2001 and 2003 believes there is something more to the dismissal.
“I’m very, I’m very surprised. I’m shocked really,” Hoddle told talkSPORT.
“I can’t understand - if it just for football reasons it doesn’t seem right. Harry has done a great job from when he took over to where he’s left them now.
“You wonder if there are some other reasons behind it that we will never find out about. It’s a big surprise to a lot ofSpurs fans that I have been talking to and myself.
“Who goes in there is a big call now for Daniel Levy. He has to make sure he brings the right person in and I think it’s a pressure that was not needed.
“We don’t know what has gone on behind the scenes.”
The Brisbane Road-based club are hopeful permission for a review will be granted after oral hearing.
