Transfer news: Real Betis will not be signing Giovani dos Santos

Real Betis coach Joseph Mel Perez has denied speculation that the club are looking to sign Tottenham playmaker Giovani dos Santos.

The Mexico international has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane after only making 17 league appearances in four years.

“Whoever comes is not Gio dos Santos,” Perez told El Universal.

“Never our intention. Doubt it’ll be a media signing (big name player), we are not willing to sign such players.

“The more we talk about names, the more problems we have.”
