Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor is looking to settle a score with Chelsea legend Didier Drogba after he helped the Blues to victory in the Champions League final.
The pair meet with their countries today as Adebayor’s Togo face Drogba’s Ivory Coast and the Spurs man hasn’t forgotten his Champions League dream being snatched away.
The Lilywhites had finished fourth, in the final Champions League spot, last season with the west Londoners in sixth but when Chelsea won the trophy they sent Tottenham to the Europa League instead.
“It was very tough to take,” Adebayor said.
“It was like a very bad defeat even though we did not play in the match itself. But things change quickly in football and there is always a chance to turn a failure, or a perceived failure, into a success.”
