It had been a long time coming, but Orient striker Kevin Lisbie had finally broken his goal duck.

To be precise 11 games and 11 weeks but the veteran was confident the goals would come and does not care who scores as long as the O’s win.

The volley against Carlisle was his 13th goal of the season in all competitions.

“It’s my 13th of the season, it’s not like I’ve not scored,” Lisbie said.

“With players like (Dean) Coxy and Lloyd (James) the strikers are always going to get chances.

“I prefer the situation where we win and I don’t score. The last two years I’ve been heavily relied on for goals but now we’re getting them from everywhere.

“I just had a strike at it and from that distance you’ve got a chance of beating the goalkeeper.”

The 35-year-old was partnered by Robbie Simpson up front, with top scorer David Mooney not ready to return from a foot injury.

Lisbie complimented Simpson’s performance, as well as that of all the strikers he’s played alongside in the Irishman’s absence.

“I played with Robbie at Wolves and I thought he did really well,” he said.

“Since Moons got injured he’s my fourth striking partner but everyone who’s coming in has done a job and put a shift in.

“I thought Jamar (Loza) was really good against Shrewsbury and it was nice for Shaq (Coulthirst) to get his goal at the end.

“My legs are a bit heavy now so it helps having the younger lads!”
