Orient fans will have to wait a little longer to see new signing Lee Cook after Saturday’s game with Hartlepool United was postponed.

An accident on the A406 caused traffic chaos throughout the area and the Hartlepool United team coach was stuck in the jam.

With the M11 also gridlocked and the Hartlepool coach still not at the ground, referee Brendan Malone decided to call the game off at 3.20pm with no prospect of the visitors arriving in the neat future.

The match official said: “Hartlepool had been stuck where they were from around 1pm and with the advice from Police saying they weren’t going to move for two to three hours, we had no choice.

“We’re governed by the information coming from the Police, we had no choice.”

As the Hartlepool coach looked to head back north the O’s staged a training session on the pitch.
