Hussain plots win against Basildon to kick off week
London APSA will be determined to get back on track when they entertain Basildon United at the Terence McMillan Stadium on Saturday.
Improving APSA saw their three-game winning run come to a halt when they ran out of steam in the 1-0 defeat at Enfield 1893 on Tuesday.
And manager Zakir Hussain has set his players a nine-point target from games against Basildon, Hullbridge and Stansted over the course of the next week.
Hussain said: “We have three games next week and I want us to really go for it and try and get maximum points if possible.
“If we do that we can really open up a big gap between ourselves and the teams beneath us in the Essex Senior League table.”
Mid-table Basildon fell to their third consecutive defeat when they lost 1-0 at home to Haringey & Waltham Development on Wednesday.
They were also beaten 3-2 at home to high-flying Burnham Ramblers last weekend, while they suffered a 5-0 thrashing at Takeley in their last away game.
It means the visitors have won just one of their last 10 league games.
APSA will be without skipper Urfat Hussain, who has an eye injury, but Liam Clifton is in contention following a knee injury.
Farhied Nyanja will be hoping to start following his recent move from Clapton.
