Hussain expects goals on Saturday
London APSA boss Zakir Hussain has told his players to produce some clinical finishing at Stansted on Saturday.
APSA were beaten 1-0 at home to Basildon United on Saturday and, after Thursday’s clash with Hullbridge was postponed, visit Stansted at the weekend.
And their manager does not want a repeat of what happened last weekend.
Hussain said: “I think a draw against Basildon at the weekend would have been a fairer result.
“Our problem is that we haven’t scored enough goals this season and we do need to start taking our chances.
“Stansted have picked up points against some good teams this season and are not a bad side.”
Win, lose or draw, it seems that Stansted – who began the week in 15th place in the Essex Senior League table – always score exactly two goals.
They have drawn their last two games – against Great Wakering Rovers and Hullbridge Sports – 2-2 and have scored exactly two goals in 13 of their 21 league outings so far this season.
APSA skipper Urfat Hussain is still a week away from returning following an eye injury, but Umair Mauthoor is available after missing the Basildon game and Jagbir Singh Birring has now recovered from illness.
After the Premier League season drew to a close yesterday, London24 Sport reflects on 10 of the very best goals.
