Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere insists an amicable agreement was reached between England manager Hodgson and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger for him to make his international return - and the promise was kept.
There was concern for the 20-year-old after he spent 17 months on the sidelines through injury but he made it through the final half an hour in the 4-2 defeat to Sweden.
He said: “They know what they are doing. I’m sure they spoke before we met up and they reached an agreement.
“The agreement was the last 30 minutes and Roy gave me the last 30 minutes so I’m grateful for that.
“I’m glad I came. It’s a pleasure to play for England and I will never say no.”
The Brisbane Road-based club are hopeful permission for a review will be granted after oral hearing.
