Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is happy to be playing under an English manager in Roy Hodgson after winning his previous five caps under Fabio Capello.
Wilshere made his comeback during the final half hour of Wednesday night’s friendly international with Sweden in Stockholm when Gerrard won his 100th cap.
He said: “It’s great to be back and I’ve got to say congratulations to Steven Gerrard. It is a great achievement.
“He has been great for England and continues to be so for club and country so congratulations to him.
“For me, it’s a whole new squad, new manager, new coaching staff, and it’s been great to be back around them and see how they want to work with me.
“It’s totally different to when the other manager (Capello) was in and I like it. It’s an English manager and it’s good that he knows the history and everything.
“It’s good to be around an English manager.”
The Brisbane Road-based club are hopeful permission for a review will be granted after oral hearing.
