Flanders FC newly-formed under-13s enjoyed a fine first season as they completed an Echo League and Cup double.
Managed by William Brobby, the team comprise of players from around the borough of Newham, though the majority of players come from Beckton’s Kingsford Primary School.
On their way to the league title they won 20 out of 21 games and scored 93 goals with two double-figure wins over Cowley Boys Cobras and Byron Red Star.
The only loss for the side, who play their home games at Flanders Fields, was an early season 3-1 defeat to Bardag.
Not settling just for league honours they set about the cup as well and defeated Dagenham Park 19-0 in the first round before gaining equally comfortable wins over Millwall Albion Red and Romford Colts to set up a final with Bardag.
And at Aveley FC’s Mill Field ground, they recorded a 7-1 victory for an opening season to remember.
Since their success, they have also recently secured a sponsor in the shape of The Miller’s Well pub in East Ham.
As another enthralling Premier League campaign comes to a close, it’s time to look at some of the men who made their mark.
