Transfer news: Wenger has admitted this morning that Arsenal have never been in the running to sign Crystal Palace wonderkid Wilfried Zaha.
Reports today suggested that the Eagles ace held talks with Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson in a London hotel over a proposed £15million move to Old Trafford.
The Gunners have been one of the teams linked with a move for the England international but when asked if he would be disappointed to lose out to their north-west rivals on another transfer target, Wenger said: “I don’t know if he [Zaha] will go to Man United. If he goes to Man United good luck him.
“We were never in for Zaha. Never.”
Yaya Sanogo says a meeting with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was enough to persuade him to snub a move to Lille and join the Gunners instead.
