Arsenal transfer news: Gunners chief says he was interested in Marco Reus
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted that he wanted to sign Germany international Marco Reus before he chose to move to Borussia Dortmund earlier this year.
The 21-year-old is returning to his home town after three years playing for Borussia Monchengladbach where he scored 37 Bundesliga goals in 99 matches from out wide.
The current champions paid £14million for the player and when asked if the Gunners chief wanted to buy Reus on TF1 by Bixente Lizarazu, Wenger said: “Yes.”
Reus scored 21 goals for Gladbach last season and scored in the national sides Euro 2012 4-0 victory over Greece on Friday.
