Transfer news: Man Utd would be the ‘ideal place’ for Robin van Persie, according to Gary Pallister
Gary Pallister thinks Robin van Persie would be far better off at Man Utd, rather than rivals Man City.
The Arsenal skipper is also wanted by Juventus, but ex-Man Utd defender Pallister thinks his old club would be the perfect destination for the Dutchman, who is reportedly unwilling to renew his contract with the Gunners.
“Strikers get frustrated at City and I don’t think Van Persie would be rotated as much at United,” Pallister told the BBC.
“Van Persie has proven he is top quality and I don’t think he would have any problem establishing a lethal partnership with Wayne Rooney.
“So if it’s for footballing reasons, then I think Manchester United would be the ideal place for him.”
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is keen to hang on to Van Persie, who scored 30 Premier League goals for the Gunners last season, but they are rumoured to be willing to sell him for the right price.
The Brisbane Road-based club are hopeful permission for a review will be granted after oral hearing.
