Olivier Giroud has revealed that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has trained with his old club recently, and says the New York Red Bulls star is unsure whether he will join the club in another short-term loan move in January.
Henry, Arsenal’s all-time leading goalscorer, sealed a shock six-week loan to the Gunners during the MLS off-season last January, and Giroud’s revelations imply that another temporary move could be a possibility.
“Henry has been training with the squad but he told me he didn’t know if he’s going to join us on loan this winter,” Giroud told RTL.
35-year-old Henry scored two goals for Arsenal during his comeback last season, with the first coming on his second debut in an FA Cup win against Leeds United at the Emirates.
But with the likes of Giroud, Lukas Podolski and Theo Walcott all hitting form, it remains to be seen whether Arsene Wenger will seek to bolster his striking options in the January transfer window.
