Arsenal transfer news: Striker set to join Gunners after Euro 2012
Montpellier president Lawrence Nicollin has admitted that talks are progressing well between themselves and Arsenal regarding the transfer of Olivier Giroud.
The striker topped the Ligue 1 scoring charts last season with 21 strikes to help his side win the title.
His goalscoring exploits have caught the attention of Gunners boss Arsene Wenger who has been looking to bolster his attacking options.
Giroud is currently playing for France at Euro 2012 although a transfer to the north Londoners is expected to be confirmed upon his return.
"Discussions are happening so cordial, as part of the clause set," Nicollin told Midi Libre. "Things are moving so serene."
The Brisbane Road-based club are hopeful permission for a review will be granted after oral hearing.
