Arsenal transfer news: Borussia Monchengladbach are keen to sign Olivier Giroud
Borussia Monchengladbach have admitted they are interested in signing Arsenal target Olivier Giroud, but have conceded that the Gunners are favourites to signing the striker.
The Montpellier striker is currently representing France in Euro 2012 after a stunning season where he topped the Ligue 1 scoring charts with 21.
Arsenal have been heavily linked with a £12million move for the 25-year-old and now Gladbach- who have qualified for next season’s Champions League- are about to make their move.
“We remain true to our policy that we do not throw our money out the window. The problem in our negotiations is that we are in competition with clubs like Arsenal and top clubs in Germany,” Max Eberl said.
Yaya Sanogo says a meeting with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was enough to persuade him to snub a move to Lille and join the Gunners instead.
