Transfer news: Ray Parlour thinks wantaway striker Robin van Persie will give it his all if he’s still at Arsenal this season
Ray Parlour insists Manchester United target Robin van Persie will give 100 per cent for the Gunners if he’s still an Arsenal player when the new season kicks off.
The Dutchman has told Arsenal he will not renew his contract, which expires this summer, but Arsene Wenger is reluctant to lose his prized asset to main rivals Man Utd.
Despite the tension between player and club, former Arsenal man Parlour has no doubt that Van Persie will give his all for the north Londoners until the end.
“I know him as a character if he does put that Arsenal shirt on in that first game I know he’ll try everything he can to score a goal and win the game for the team,” Parlour told Talk Sport.
“He’s got a lot of respect for Arsene Wenger and for his teammates but he’s just decided that he wants to move on.”
The Brisbane Road-based club are hopeful permission for a review will be granted after oral hearing.
