Transfer news: Marouane Chamakh has been linked with a move away from the Premier League
Turkish side Besiktas are keen to sign Arsenal misfit Marouane Chamakh, according to their manager Samet Aybaba.
The Morocco striker has endured a nightmare spell in north London, scoring only once in 19 appearances for the Gunners last season.
And the arrivals of strikers Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud could limit Chamakh’s first team chances this season, even if Robin van Persie leaves the club as expected.
Besiktas boss Aybaba said: “We are interested in Marouanne Chamakh.
“We have a few players on our transfer list, however, we have to make our decisions very carefully due to the delicate financial situation we find ourselves in.”
The Brisbane Road-based club are hopeful permission for a review will be granted after oral hearing.
