Abou Diaby is hoping for an injury-free season for Arsenal
Abou Diaby says the plaudits of his manager Arsene Wenger have filled him with confidence ahead of the new season.
Diaby was limited to only six appearances for the Gunners in the last campaign due to injury, but the 26-year-old is delighted to have the backing of his boss, who has been full of praise for the the France international during Arsenal’s pre-season Asia tour.
“It is always nice to have the confidence of the manager,” Diaby told Arsenal’s official website.
“I’m fit now, I have been training since the beginning of pre-season and also did a rehabilitation session during my holidays - so now I feel great.
“I know that when I am fit, I can be good on the pitch. My main target this season is to be fit and if I am then everything will be good for me.
“Last season I was injured many times and couldn’t play much, so this year is crucial,” he added.
