Tomas Rosicky was proud of the Czech Republic’s achievements at Euro 2012
Arsenal star Tomas Rosicky believes that he and his Czech Republic team-mates can hold their heads up high after their Euro 2012 quarter final exit to Portugal.
The Czech’s lost their opening game to Russia by four goals to one but recovered sufficiently to progress as group winners.
However, a Cristiano Ronaldo goal ended their participation in the tournament.
“I don’t think [we exceeded expectations] - our goal was to come from the group and try our best in the next round, which is what we did,” Rosicky told the club’s official site.
“I think we can go home with our heads held high. We lost against a better team and it’s nothing to be ashamed of.”
After the Premier League season drew to a close yesterday, London24 Sport reflects on 10 of the very best goals.
