Lukas Podolski is looking forward to getting started with his new club
Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski is feeling confident ahead of his debut season in the Premier League but admits he may need a bit more time to settle in.
The 27-year-old former Cologne forward is currently preparing for the new campaign on Arsenal’s pre-season training camp in Germany, having taken an extended break after his exploits at Euro 2012.
He says he will need a few more weeks to get up to speed but is confident he can make a big impact for the Gunners.
“I am now two weeks into training and it is not easy when you come back to your club after a European Championship or World Cup,” Podolski told Arsenal’s official website.
“I need some more weeks and then you will see the real Podolski.
“It has been very good so far. This is a big club with a great coach and I am very proud to be an Arsenal player.
“I am looking forward to the first match of the season against Sunderland,” he added.
