Transfer news: Martin Keown wants the Dutchman to stay
Arsenal legend Martin Keown believes that Robin van Persie would make the wrong move to leave the club.
The Dutchman revealed last Wednesday that he was not going to sign a new contract, sparking rumours that Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus, Manchester United and Manchester City were going to make a bid to lure the striker away from the Emirates.
“[Robin] van Persie is adored by the Arsenal fans, surely he’s not going to leave?” Keown told Goal.com.
“After getting to where he wanted to get to - the captain of the club, the adulation he receives every time he goes out on the Arsenal pitch.
“I think it would be the wrong move for him to leave.”
