OUR weekly feature continues to bring back fond memories.
We publish pictures from the days most people think are the best of their lives – the days of the old school yard.
The fame of this feature has spread all over the world. We receive e-mails and letters from former East Enders from as far away as Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus, Japan and the USA.
We now have a worldwide audience and readers are telling each other about our feature by e-mail and letter, and even mentioning it on sites such as Friends Reunited.
It is a column we are all immensely proud of.
If you would like your old school photo to rekindle happy times, it is very easy.
Just send it to: Days of the Old School Yard, Recorder Newspapers, 182-184 High Street North, East Ham, E6 2JD.
Or e-mail a copy of the picture – it must be in jpeg form please – to colin.grainger@ archant.co.uk. None of this will cost you a penny and we promise to take care of your photo and return it.
There is no time limit on the happy days. You can send us pictures from as little as ten years ago…though our oldest picture so far has been from 1915!
If you know anyone featured in each week’s photograph and any interesting facts about what became of them in later life, write to the same address or e-mail and we’ll share the news.
