 | | TRIBUTE SHOW: Graham Desmond |
A MAGICIAN who grew up in Redbridge and lived here for 40 years, will be hosting a special show in tribute to his late parents.
Graham Desmond, 61, lived in Goodmayes for more than 30 years and in Seven Kings for another 10, before retiring to Eastbourne last year.
His parents Jessie and Albert Brewer bought a home in Douglas Road, Goodmayes, before World War Two and stayed there for most of their lives.
Mr Desmond, who changed his name by deed poll for a snappier showbiz sound, said: "A lot of people knew my parents and I hope that they will all come. I would love to see anyone there who knew mum or dad."
Mr Brewer died two years ago aged 93 and his wife died a decade earlier.
The show will include variety acts and music directed by Kenneth More Theatre regular Laurence Payne.
It is on from 3.30pm until 5.30pm at the Methodist Hall, Percy Road, Goodmayes, on Saturday, April 1. Admission free.
Mr Desmond can be contacted on 01323 488360.
